Elk Moans Make Money For Small Town Resort

GATEWAY, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For residents of Gateway, Colorado, there’s no sweeter sound than that of a love-sick elk.

Elk mating season has just begun, and mammal lovers from all states are heading to the Gateway Canyons Resort to take pictures of the horny elk and hear the males bugle as they stick it to the fairer sex.

According to elk guide Luke Reece, the “big sex game” starts as soon as the summer heat begins to cool, and the love fest continues for as long as 45 days.

The eager elk even respond to calls done by visitors on a bugle, in what Reece calls a “sort of Marco Polo game” with the bugler.

While the wild animals may feel like they’re being watched, Reece says there’s no reason for visiting voyeurs to feel frightened.

He assures, “If the elk see a human, they take off right away.”
