What’s In A Name: A Lot Of Cash!

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A web whiz in Sacramento, California, is ditching his boring name and attempting to sell it to the highest online bidder.

That’s the idea behind Stan Oleynick’s website,, where now through October 1, he’s trying to pimp out his name by selling it to the highest bidder, who will then have the power to change Oleynick’s name to whatever they want, just as long as it’s not obscene.

With his new name in place, Oleynick will then attempt to beat a Guinness World Record for either watching TV the longest, or writing from the number one to 1,000,000 in the shortest amount of time.

Once he gets some press coverage, Oleynick will use his makeshift moniker as an advertisement in whatever TV shows or articles he appears in for one year, so the buyer of his name will get some good publicity.

So far, the frontrunning bidder is willing to pay $10,500 to change Oleynick’s name to “PageRank 7 Directory,” but Oleynick isn’t too worried about it.

He says, “I’m not planning on getting married when I have my new name, so my future wife won’t be Mrs. Directory or anything.”
