Gore’s Baby Girl Injects Health Care Issues

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When your dad is an environment junkie like Al Gore, global warming makes you want to grab the syringe.

Former VP daughter Kristin Gore has penned her second novel, Sammy’s House (Hyperion), a comedy that explores the world of a fictional health care advisor who assists a made-up presidential administration.

Gore says when she decided to write about an issue, the environment just didn’t melt her icecaps.

As she puts it, “I already knew too much about it from growing up with my dad. I just wanted to tackle something more interesting.”

Since she found the environment “inherently boring,” Gore chose health care, which was an issue that gobbled her up.

Says Gore: “I was shocked to find out they drug the turkey the president pardons every year for Thanksgiving. So in the book there’s a scene where that happens.”

Gore jokes her lead character has to put up with a pharmaceutical crisis, a drugged turkey, and lame duck politicians.

She says, “They all end up being incapacitated poultry.”
