No Acting Required For ‘My Boys’ Star

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – My Boys actor Jamie Kaler loves his gig on the manly sitcom – especially because it requires very little acting on his part.

Kaler – who is starring on the second season of My Boys set to premiere later this summer – says he can really be himself on the show because in his words, “We just sit around, play poker, and talk about sports.”

And as fate would have it, Kaler’s character on the show, Mike Callahan, sails very close to his real-life past.

That’s because “Callahan” is the same name as the title of Kaler’s ship when he served in the Navy many years ago.

Kaler says, “I even put a USS Callaghan hat in the background of my apartment on the show.”

And while the writers almost always make his character realistic on the show, there are times when they strip away who Kaler really is for certain episodes.

As he puts it, “We recently shot a scene where I was walking around all day in a robe and a fake tan. I looked like I was on a porn shoot!”
