Celebrities Wait Tables For Charity

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Celebrities will be getting down and dirty waiting tables for charity at a New York restaurant on Monday (June 11), and Sports anchorman Bryant Gumbel is the master server to beat.

Sapa restaurant in New York City is gathering celebs from Broadway and television who will wait tables to earn money for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other brain diseases.

Among the stars testing their waiting skills will be Queer Eye For The Straight Guy’s Ted Allen, 30 Rock funny lady Rachel Dratch, Numb3rs’ hunk Rob Morrow, and Law & Order: SVU star Diane Neal.

But Spokeswoman Lisa Goldberg says the real pro server will be Bryant Gumbel, who sold four bottles of pricey Dom Perrignon champagne to a table last year and really boosted the fundraiser.

Goldberg explains, “Bryant was in it to win it and really wanted to make money for ALS. He’s serving again this year and I’ve already told all the other stars to step up their game since Bryant’s the one to beat!”

But, to avoid kitchen catastrophes, Goldberg is making sure each celeb is partnered with a real Sapa server to guide them.

She adds, “The stars are there to take drink orders, chat with patrons, and have fun. We’re not expecting four-star service, just a good, charitable time.”
