Simon Cowell Weighs In On American Idol Finale

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – While American Idol fans anxiously await the season finale this Wednesday (May 23), Simon Cowell, of course, has his own opinions on the final showdown between Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks.

Cowell expects the finale to be a doozie, but admits he’s having a hard time guessing who will win the competition since both finalists have their own “strengths and weaknesses.”

Says Cowell: “Blake is the better entertainer, but Jordin is the better singer. Blake’s voice could hold him back, but then again, Jordin’s boring performances may keep her from winning. It’s really up to America, so who knows what will happen!”

And while Cowell supports the final two Idols, he admits he was “very disappointed” when his favorite singing diva, Melinda Doolittle, was booted from the competition last Wednesday (May 16).

Cowell laments, “She was clearly the best singer this season and gave the most consistent performances the last 10 weeks. It just doesn’t seem right that she didn’t even make it into the finals. Melinda still had some fight left in her.”

The American Idol season finale airs Wednesday (May 23).
