‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Judge Happy To See Dancers Busting Moves

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Mary Murphy is getting moved quite a lot these days – and that’s good since it’s her job to judge people’s moves.

Murphy is one of the judges of the Fox reality show So You Think You Can Dance, which comes back for its third season on May 24.

She says the success of the series has helped improve the lot of dancers in general and says that more jobs are available in TV and movies than ever before.

Even better, she says, is that her own show is now attracting what she calls “a higher level of dancer.”

As she puts it, “Before, good dancers were taking a chance by going on the show because, ‘What if you get kicked off the show after you’ve been dancing with the American Ballet Company for seven years?”’

And while Murphy doesn’t pull punches with her comments, she is happy with the public reaction.

In her words, “It’s pretty funny. Every time I’m out, I get people busting a move for me and auditioning right there on the spot.”
