‘Idol’ Producer Thinks Sanjaya Malakar Is ‘Good For The Show’

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some people think Sanjaya Malakar is ruining American Idol, but not the show’s producer, Ken Warwick.

He says the controversy surrounding the tussled teen is good for the show and believes that Sanjaya “totally deserves” to be a front runner in the competition and can see why people continue to vote him through.

Says Warwick: “He’s a good looking kid and young girls love him. His voice isn’t that bad either, and his hairstyle is fantastic. He changes things up every week and keeps the show interesting.”

As for rumors of Howard Stern and fueling the fire to keep Sanjaya on Idol, Warwick insists they don’t have “significant impact” on the outcome of the show since so many people who actually take Idol seriously vote every week.

He adds, “Sanjaya is staying in this thing due to his own merits. People like him right now and that’s that.”

But, in the end, Warwick predicts Sanjaya won’t actually win American Idol since “America usually gets it right sooner or later.”
