Thats how show host Chris Harrison sees it.
He says he recently met up with Survivor host Jeff Probst and they discussed the differences between their two hits.
As Harrison puts it, I told [Probst] that at least his show has some game elements, whereas, with The Bachelor, it comes down to free will at the end.
He says thats why the shows rate of actual marriages is low, despite 10 seasons, including the newest, which premieres Monday (Apr. 2) on ABC.
But even the relationships that didnt work out, had some positive benefits. Harrison points to Bob Guiney, who didnt get married on the show, but did meet his wife, Rebecca, because of the show.
He admits: The show was sort of a stepping stool for him, but Im friends with him, and hes the first to say it made him a better person.
Harrison says other former Bachelors have informed the newest Bachelor, Dr. Andy Baldwin, about what to expect, and, as a result, he says this season will have one of the best finishes in show history.
