Domain Names Leak ‘American Idol’ Secrets

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The singers being considered as finalists for American Idol won’t be revealed for several weeks but one reality TV website believes it knows how to pick who’s staying in Hollywood.

The editor of realitytvmagazine.com recently attempted to narrow down the singers who appeared on the first two episodes by doing domain searches for the 14 singers who were invited to Hollywood.

Of those, three contestants – Anna Kearns, Sanjaya Malakar and Shyamali Malakar – registered domain names right after their initial auditions.

Website editor Joe Blackmon speculates Idol producers snatched up the names right away because the three advanced to the top 40 in Hollywood.

However, three other contestants – Matt Sato, Michelle Steingas and Perla Meneses – didn’t register until after the season premiere, which implies producers didn’t care enough to secure their place in cyberspace.

The remaining eight contestants all registered their domain names before November – which makes it impossible to determine if any of them advanced to the final 40.
