Taylor Hicks Best-Mannered Person Of 2006

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Taylor Hicks was declared the American Idol winner earlier this year but now he’s getting an even better honor: The Best-Mannered Person Of 2006.

The coveted honor comes courtesy of the National League of Junior Cotillions, which is giving it to Hicks because of his humility and politeness to fans.

But Hicks isn’t the only person who had good manners in 2006. Today Show host Meredith Viera also scores high marks for the warmth and kindness she extends to the show’s guests.

Other honorees include Dancing With The Stars winner Emmitt Smith who makes the cut for his positive influence in football and dance.

  • Barack Obama gets a polite round of applause for keeping his poise under presidential pressure.

  • Carrie Underwood is having her praises sung for the graciousness she shows to fans.

Finally, San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson is considered a positive role model to young athletes.
