Jason Ritter Is A Country Boy

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Jason Ritter plays a prep on The Class but in real life he’s just a country boy.

The actor’s grandfather is country legend Tex Ritter and, as a result, he says he love classic country crooners like Roy Rogers and Loretta Lynn.

So much so that he was excited to learn about his favorites during a trip to the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame.

Says Ritter: “My grandfather sort of started it up so it was really cool to go there and learn all about it and the history of it.”

He says he also loved to rock out to Johnny Cash “before Walk The Line came out” and has a special place in his heart for Dolly Parton – especially her song “Jolene.”

But Ritter admits he’s caught himself singing modern tunes time and again as well.

As he put it, “I would be lying if I said Shania Twain doesn’t get stuck in my head every now and then.”
