Lily Munster Liked To Play Tricks On Marlon Brando

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Lily Munster is usually associated with her husband, Herman, but the actress who played her had more of a thing for Marlon Brando.

According to a new book The Munsters: A Trip Down Mockingbird Lane (Back Stage Books), actress Yvonne DeCarlo often visited Brando on movie sets fully decked out as Lily in order to chat about her makeup and characterization.

On one occasion, she hid in a confessional during one of his scenes as a joke.

When Brando saw her, he fell off his stool and pretended to walk off the set – but she insists that he “loved it.”

Although DeCarlo was chummy with Brando, she wasn’t as nice to Pat Priest, who replaced Beth Owen as Marilyn Munster mid-season.

According to Priest, DeCarlo cornered her and told her “There’s one thing I want you to know young lady. Don’t you ever upstage me!” Apparently, the director had told Priest to step forward in a scene.

Despite acting like a witch on that occasion, DeCarlo and Priest later became close friends.
