Magician Hopes Harry Houdini Makes Appearance At Own Anniversary

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Halloween (Oct. 31) marks the 80th anniversary of Harry Houdini’s death and maybe this time he’ll actually show up for the celebration.

Or that’s what Las Vegas-based magician Dixie Dooley hopes.

This Halloween at 1:26 p.m. Dooley will hold a seance to try to contact Houdini, who died in a Detroit hospital at 1:26 p.m. on October 31, 1926.

Dooley, who has been trying to contact Houdini for 22 years, is confident that this time the master magician will make contact by either speaking to the crowd, writing on special slates or unlocking a special pair of handcuffs that only he can escape.

Legend has it that before Houdini died, he told people when he would contact them from the spirit world.

Says Dooley: “I’m giving him an empty stage with no tricks so he can make the great escape from the afterlife to this life.”
