Meat Loaf Will Pass On Gershwin

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Meat Loaf may be appearing in his own Broadway show on November 2 but don’t expect the rocker to follow Rod Stewart's lead and release an album of Broadway standards – ever.

It’s a case of been there, done that for the beefy balladeer, who performed one George Gershwin song on an album several years ago.

But he says he would never do it again, even though he says Gershwin’s estate thought he did such a great job that they wanted him to do a whole album.

Although Meat Loaf thought it was a “nice compliment” he had to “respectively decline.”

He says you wont find any standards in his Broadway show – except his own.

As he puts it, “this isn’t going to be any tribute to Ann Miller.

Instead he’s going to be belting out hits from his first two Bat Out Of Hell albums as well as songs from the upcoming third installment, Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster is Loose, which comes out on Halloween (Oct. 31).
