Comic book creator Shawn Granger always thought his elderly uncle Ray was fishy, especially when he stayed with him for the summer.
Granger had no idea Uncle Ray was killing homeless people on the side.
Ray Copeland and his wife Faye were eventually caught and charged with murdering six hired hands making the 70 something couple the oldest to get the death penalty.
Although Granger admits he used his artistic license to spice up the story and even added a romantic subplot many of the events are true.
As he puts it, In retrospect there was a lot of clues It really came as no surprise that he did this he abused anyone he could get his hands on.
The first chapter of the Family Bones series will be available in November.
