Jeff Probst: ‘New ‘Survivor’ Shows What U.S. Is All About’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – As the host of Survivor, Jeff Probst has seen some crazy things, but even he admits he hasn’t seen anything quite like the show’s latest season, which debuts Thursday (Sept. 14) on CBS.

That’s because Survivor: Cook Islands pits four teams of different races – white, black, Asian and Hispanic – against each other for the million dollar prize.

Says Probst: “I don’t know why it took so long to have a show that shows what the U.S. is all about.”

He says the diversity definitely makes the show “more interesting” because there is “so many different points of view and ways to make fire” and that it should “have a positive effect on people.”

Probst even took something away from the experience. As he puts it, “I learned it’s OK not to know something, it’s OK to ask questions if it’s not a world I’m from.”
