Former New Kids On The Block Member Donnie Wahlberg Still Touching Fans

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Donnie Wahlberg might be making a name for himself in films these days, but the former New Kids on the Block heartthrob says he still gets mail from fans telling him how his former boy band changed their life.

Wahlberg plays a CIA operative in the new ABC miniseries The Path to 9/11 which airs on Sunday (Sept. 10) and Monday (Sept. 11) and he says that although he hasn’t heard of anyone turning to New Kids as a form of post-9/11 therapy, he is still “touched and flattered” when fans mail him letters describing their personal problems and how his music affected them.

Says Wahlberg: “If my music was able to help someone then it was all worth it.”

He says he hopes to help people out in The Path to 9/11 by shedding some insight into what really happened after the attacks on the World Trade Center.

As he puts it, “It was like drinking tough medicine at times, but we really tried to find the truth in every moment.”
