Aaron Neville Knows What It Means To Miss New Orleans

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s an old song that asks the musical question, “Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans?”

In the year since Hurricane Katrina hit the Big Easy, Aaron Neville has the answer: It sucks.

The storm forced Neville, along with thousands of others, to flee the city and he admits he’ll always be haunted by the disaster.

In his words, “It’s my life and my roots. I’m always thinking about the people who were in the water and nobody cared. It’s going to be hurting and haunting the rest of my life.”

Neville, who suffers from asthma, was told by his doctor not to go back but he admits there’s another reason why he may not ever return.

As he puts it, “I have memories. That’s why I haven’t been back.”

Instead, Neville now lives in Brentwood, Tennessee, and says he’s “comfortable there but it’s a different scene.”

Neville’s latest project is a new CD, Bring It On Home: The Soul Classics, which features his take on classic soul standards and hits stores September 19.
