Crooners such as Cyndi Lauper, Smokey Robinson, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Michael Bolton and Clint Black will be paired up with other celebrity contestants each week, who in turn will help them prepare their pipes for a duet in front of judge and Hollywood composer David Foster.
After each show, the celebritys fate is put in the hands of the viewers who decide which rookie-singer/celeb stays and which ones to mute forever.
Sounds a little like American Idol, sure, and thats because Idol judge Simon Cowell is Duets executive producer.
But unlike Idol, the prize money goes towards the charity of the champions choice.
Celebrity Duets premieres August 29 on Fox.
