‘Celebrity Duets’ Brings Tone Deaf To Tune Divas For Help

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Tone deaf celebrities will be getting personal singing lessons from some legendary musical superstars on the new Fox show Celebrity Duets.

Crooners such as Cyndi Lauper, Smokey Robinson, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Michael Bolton and Clint Black will be paired up with other celebrity contestants each week, who in turn will help them prepare their pipes for a duet in front of judge and Hollywood composer David Foster.

After each show, the celebrity’s fate is put in the hands of the viewers who decide which rookie-singer/celeb stays and which ones to mute forever.

Sounds a little like American Idol, sure, and that’s because Idol judge Simon Cowell is Duets executive producer.

But unlike Idol, the prize money goes towards the charity of the champion’s choice.

Celebrity Duets premieres August 29 on Fox.
