Slayer Survives 6/6/06, Hypocritical Christians And One Demented Fan

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The mark of the beast may be a favorite topic for the guys in Slayer, but the band survived this past Tuesday’s ominous date intact.

Frontman Kris Kerry says that besides making him laugh, fundamentalist Christians provide him with endless inspiration.

Kerry denies being a Satanist, but claims that being an atheist doesn’t mean he’s going to let the hypocrisy of many Christians off the hook.

In Kerry’s words, “It’s almost all about money. You shouldn’t have to give anyone cash to get your soul where you want it to go.”

Still, Kerry says some of his band’s own extremist fans can be disturbing in their own right.

In his words, “I did have a kid at one show come up and hand me what I thought was a pen – but turned out to be a scalpel to carve my autograph into his arm.”

Kerry refused, adding: “I’ll sign anything you want, kid, but I won’t be carving you up, under any circumstances.”
