Luke Perry Knows There’s More To Life Than Money

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Luke Perry may have seen wealth at a young age when he scored the role of rich loner Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210 but the former teen heartthrob says he never let the money get to his head.

Perry plays an average Joe who wins the lottery with 20 of his friends in the new NBC drama Windfall, and claims it was his Midwestern upbringing that helped keep him grounded during the ’90s when he was a cash cow.

Says Perry: “Growing up in the Midwest, people drive Fords not Porsches... . You don’t order things on the menu that you can’t pronounce because you don’t know what it is – you want the meat and potatoes.”

The actor claims “money has never really been an issue” for him and says people, especially the big spenders in Hollywood, need to “stop bitching” about things and points out that “you need much less than you really think.”

Perry also feels it’s important that people learn the importance of saving money “for a rainy day” because “no matter who you are a rainy day is going to come along eventually.”

Windfall debuts Thursday (Jun. 8).
