Dead ‘Sopranos’ Character Still Under Oath For Actor Funaro

QUEENS, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Just when you think HBO’s hit mob series The Sopranos has killed off another character, they pull him back in.

It’s Robert Funaro, who played “Gene Pontecorvo,” one of Tony Soprano’s mob captains for the last couple of seasons.

Even though Funaro’s character hung himself in the season premiere earlier this year anyone who thinks he’s going to squeal about the notoriously secretive scripts for the show should fughettaboutit.

Funaro says his Sopranos contract still keeps him “sworn to secrecy” – even though his character is undeniably history.

The actor says if anyone asks – even his wife – he pleads “the Big Pussy rule” – referring to another popular character killed off on the show several seasons back.

Funaro jokes: “I may have to come back in a dream sequence if they need me.”

The Sopranos airs its season finale on Sunday (Jun. 4).
