Kathy Griffin Doesn’t Mind Her Life As A D-List Celebrity

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Most celebrities don’t want to admit they’re not considered Hollywood high rollers but comedian Kathy Griffin has come to terms with her D- list status.

Griffin – who is about to begin the second season of her Bravo reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List – says she knew she was never going to be a Hollywood insider after she won the reality game show Celebrity Mole several years ago.

As she puts it, “There was no turning back. I like to think that I’m still invited to the party, but I’m never going to be allowed in the VIP room.”

Instead, she says her stints on various reality shows have helped her stand up career.

Now, she fills 2,500 seat theaters, and plays private parties around the country, including a lesbian birthday party in Scottsdale, Arizona and a gay prom in Beverly Hills.

Says Griffin: “Sure there are times where I’m like, ‘Chris Rock and Jon Stewart don’t do this,’ but I’m having fun.”

The second season of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D- List debuts June 6 – but Yahoo! will webcast a sneak preview tonight (May 23).
