Mullen is the safety and part-time wide receiver for the Wisconsin Wolves, one of the 17 teams in the Womens Professional Football League (WPFL), which kicks off its inaugural season July 22.
Not a single down has been played but Mullen is already the Leagues biggest star, in part because shes the Miss Wisconsin runner-up and a correspondent for CNNSI.com.
As a result of her relatively high profile compared to the other WPFL players, Mullen admits shes being used as team motivation by opposing squads.
Mullen understands her role in the league. As she puts it, The media needs someone to answers questions, and admits shes expecting to tackle her challengers head-on.
Although Mullen figures other players and coaches will get attention once the league commences play, she will still be a high-profile player, especially now that shes the celebrity spokeswoman for www.femalefootballnetwork.com, a website dedicated to gridiron-loving gals.
