So says Jak Castro, who is president of the Poseidon Adventure Fan Club, an organization with 2000 fans obsessed with the 1972 movie.
Castro says the producers of the new film, which stars Josh Lucas and Kurt Russell, made a mistake by distancing themselves from the original.
As he puts it, They made a mistake by removing the word Adventure and there are none of the original characters.
Although the special effects for the new film are reportedly state-of-the-art, Castro says hes unimpressed by the clips hes seen because, It shows a computer generated ship thats as fake as it sounds.
Castro wants to keep an open mind before he sees the movie this weekend but he admits that, unlike when he sees the original film, he wont be wearing a tux to the screening.
