Horse Soccer Kicks Off Inaugural Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It doesn’t seem to make much horse sense, but Horse Soccer is sweeping the heartland of America.

So says Renee Miller, a horse trainer in Kansas City, Missouri, and she should know.

She claims to have invented the first Horse Soccer league as a way of training and de-sensitizing young horses who spook easily.

In Miller’s words, “It’s an instinctive thing for most horses, it goes with their herding impulses... plus, they’re naturally social and cooperative.”

Miller also claims that any age or breed of horse “from 6 to 60 years old” can kick it live in horse soccer, and that the games are sophisticated enough to include passing and even celebrations when a goal is scored.

In fact, Miller says she has “one horse who kicks the ball way harder when she’s scoring a goal, like she’s saying, ‘Take THAT!”’

Miller is now hoping to popularize the sport via a horse soccer kit which includes an instructional DVD.
