‘American Idol’s Ace Learned The Most From Kenny Rogers

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – American Idol fans may no longer be singing the praises of Ace Young but he insists the show was a real education for him – especially thanks to Kenny Rogers.

This season, contestants have received singing seminars from Rogers, Barry Manilow, Stevie Wonder, Queen and Rod Stewart and while Young is known for his soul stylings, the best advice came from the country crooner.

Young says Rogers told him to “pour your heart and soul into every song” and, thanks to the tuneful tip, he feels he “gave one of the best performances that night and I don’t normally sing country.”

The Gambler may have taken Young under his wing, but some of the other stars weren’t so approachable.

He admits Stewart was very intimidating in person but his views of the Brit changed once he saw him onstage.

As Young puts it, “It was a comfort to see him live – he was a very warm guy onstage.”
