Simon Cowell Looking For Different Kinds Of Talent For New Show

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Maybe you don’t have the singing chops for American Idol, but if you can play chopsticks on the piano with your toes, you might be a contender on Simon Cowell’s newest talent competition show.

Open calls for variety and bizarre novelty acts are being held next month in cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City and Atlanta for the show tentatively titled America’s Got Talent.

The Director of Talent for the show, Hedda Muskat, says the series scheduled to premiere this summer will have an Idol format, but contestants won’t face the “major age restriction” found on American Idol.

She says that means anyone from “amazing kids” to “amazing seniors” can show off their skills in singing, dancing, magic, comedy, knife throwing, etc. to compete for a six-figure cash prize.

Audition schedules will soon be up at and contestants can pre-book their audition time by e-mailing

Alas, Cowell is only executive producing, so it looks like the snarky comments will be left to the yet-to-be-named celebrity judges.
