According to the curator of Costumes and Textiles at the Louisiana State Museum, oldsters get more beads tossed at them than women flashing their boobies.
As Phillips explains, its because bead tossers want to make sure the senior citizens are having a good time too.
Similarly, he says people with kids on their shoulders also score big.
An even better method is taunting the tossers with signs saying they dont know how to throw.
The absolute best way to walk away beaded is to know someone on the float wholl toss you a wad of trinkets.
But, as Phillips explains, you have to know exactly where your buddy will be on the float, because he says its required by law that float riders wear a mask, which makes it difficult to spot them in the mayhem.
