Jim Belushi And Julie Newmar Solve Neighborly Differences On Sitcom

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some people settle problems with a fistfight, but Jim Belushi and Julie Newmar preferred to do it on a sitcom.

Belushi and Newmar are neighbors who, in the past, have had a contentious relationship, mostly over his loud air conditioner.

The two settled their differences in court but really patched things up when Newmar did a guest spot on According To Jim, which airs tonight (Feb. 8).

Newmar plays a writer of a series of books called “The Grumpy Guy” and uses Belushi’s character as inspiration. In real life, she was inspired by Belushi himself.

As she puts it, “He makes fun of himself and gave me all the best lines.”

Newmar admits their real-life relationship has been combustible but says, on camera, they had a natural chemistry like “Batman and Catwoman. We’re opposites fighting for the same thing.”

Although Newmar doesn’t know if the guest spot will lead to a recurring role, she’s hopeful since the plot seems to leave that door open to a return visit.
