Rockabilly Singer Remembers Elvis...And His Diamond Ring

OKLAHOMA CITY (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s easy for rockabilly singer Wanda Jackson to think fondly of Elvis Presley – all she has to do is gaze at the diamond ring he gave her.

The pretty singer toured with Presley when she was just 17 and says he gave her the ring with diamond chips in it and “asked me to be his girl”.

She adds, “It wasn’t real expensive. He wasn’t in the big money yet.”

Jackson sings about the bling on her new album, I Remember Elvis, which features her renditions of several of The King’s songs and one original tune called “I wore Elvis’ Ring.”

Jackson has since married, and her husband and manager Wendell Goodman, often jokes, “Hey, I’m the man who beat out Elvis.”

But now that Jackson is collaborating with Elvis Costello on some projects, she says her husband laments, “That’s all I need is another Elvis in my life!”
