The actress says when she got the call to audition for The Office, she was ecstatic. In her words, I about peed my pants. I thought, I cannot mess this up. This is my dream job.
Now that Fischer has the role of Pam and the show is a success, she couldnt be happier...that is, unless her character lost the unflattering half-ponytail hairstyle, which her husband calls a girl mullet.
She sighs and says, Pam doesnt know what to do with her naturally curly hair.
When she first wore the hairstyle, Fischer admits she thought, I cannot go on national television like this, but has come to accept that Pams style is simple and consistent as opposed to glamorous.
More viewers are likely to get acquainted with the girl mullet starting tonight (Jan. 5), when The Office moves to the coveted Thursday night slot on NBC.
