Prince Charles May Want To Reconsider Playing Polo – Elephant Polo

INVERARAY, Scotland (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Prince Charles announced that he won’t be playing polo anymore, but a Scottish Duke thinks elephant polo is a fine sport that the prince might want to consider trying.

Scotland’s Duke of Argyll, Torquhil Ian Campbell, is captain of the Chivas Regal elephant polo team and he’s on cloud nine due to the country’s tournament victory against the National Parks of Nepal team in Nepal earlier this month (Dec. 3).

He jokes, “At long last we found something that Scotland is good at.”

Campbell insists that elephants are “a bit like a dog, really. You throw a ball and they chase it.”

Though the Duke respects the Prince’s decision to retire from polo, he says if Charles ever changes his mind, “I’d be delighted to invite him onto our team.”

He says pachyderm polo is a fascinating sport because there’s “a mahout – an elephant driver – who concentrates on steering and a player behind the mahout. You’ve got three brains working in hope.”

More importantly, he adds, “The elephants love it.”
