Tom Crouse, a born-again Christian pastor and Massachusetts- based radio talk show host, is the creator of the Mr. Heterosexual Contest a pageant that promotes male heterosexuality.
The first contest will be held in Sturbridge, Mass., on February 4, and Crouse says the idea came to him after hearing about Mr. Gay International who was recently crowned and thought, someone should celebrate heterosexuals.
In Crouses words, God made us this way and we should celebrate it.
The event will feature macho events like seeing how many Oprah magazines each contestant can rip in half; a taste test where players identify potato chips by brand and flavor; and a lecture contest requiring a one minute dissertation on the best use of duct tape.
Other Mr. Heterosexual Contests are scheduled for Albany, New York, and Louisville, Kentucky, and Crouse hopes that there will eventually be one in every state and also a national competition.
