Woman Launches Rent-A-Friend For $25K A Week

MINNEAPOLIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – They say money can’t buy happiness, but a woman from Minneapolis thinks it can for a week.

A 30-year-old administrative assistant who prefers to be only identified as Julie has launched a rent-a-friend business at where for $25,000 she’ll fly to a customer’s home and be their friend for one week.

Julie says she’ll do anything, although, “nothing sexual and nothing dangerous.”

Julie says when she launched her service she thought, “It will probably be Paris Hilton types” who take her up on her offer, but she figures people who are “more reasonable” who just need a friend will fit the bill as well.

She’s also hoping selling her friendship may lead to a career change, because there is little work in her area and with a Master’s in counseling, she’s often told she’s overqualified for other jobs.

Still, Julie says her ultimate goal is to be an actress or screenwriter. In her words, “It would be nice if someone noticed me.”
