Not Everyone Happy About Extra Hour Of Sleep On Sunday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An extra hour of sleep awaits folks this Sunday (Oct. 30) when the time falls back an hour, but that’s not making everyone happy.

One such person is Sheila Danzig who is pressing the U.S. government to stick with one time the whole year instead of falling back an hour in the fall and springing forward an hour in the spring.

The Florida resident has started the website to get folks to contact their Congressmen and women in hopes that a law will be passed to prevent the changing of clocks twice a year.

Danzig says her biggest beef with the time change, which was originally implemented to make better use of daylight to save energy, is that it messes with our biological clocks, but just as irritating, forces us to change every device in our house that has a clock on it.

She believes the time change only “minimally reduces” the need to use electricity and figures “80 percent” of people want to keep it the same year-round.

In her words, “It just makes for terrible confusion and inconvenience...It’s like a self-imposed jet lag.”
