Batman the TV Show: The Play, a stage version based on the 1960s campy TV series with an original plot, opened this past weekend at a theatre called the Dark Room.
Neither Adam West or Burt Ward from the TV show are in the production, but writer/director Jim Fourniadis says he wrote the roles with them in mind.
Fourniadis says he watched old episodes of the TV series until, in his words, I was walking around talking like Burt Ward.
However, he says he didnt play up the homoeroticism between Batman and Robin because, he thought, It was too easy.
Instead, Fourniadis says, I wanted to make them asexual to the point of being Boy Scouts.
The show will close Oct. 30.
