Jesus On A Gemstone For Sale

MINNEAPOLIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A Minneapolis-based gemstone cutter found himself a real gem of a specimen: The face of Jesus on a piece of Morrisonite Jasper.

John Schmidt of Blue Heron Gem made the “miracle stone” discovery about a week ago and has since put the green, red and yellow rock up for auction on eBay.

Since putting it on the auctioning block, Schmidt says viewers have written him telling him they see other faces in the stone besides the Son of God’s face, but no one has asked him if they can come and worship the gem.

So far, the 44mm-by-28mm, 75-carat stone has elicited $1,000 in bids which, sans the Savior’s face, would normally pull in about $20 to $150.

The auction ends Sunday (Oct. 2).
