Pete Best Hopes DVD Returns His Mom To Proper Place In Rock History

LIVERPOOL, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Pete Best – the original drummer of the Beatles – was booted from the band more than 40 years ago but now he’s telling his side of the story in a new DVD, Best Of The Beatles.

He admits it’s his story, but insists “it’s also the story of hundreds of other people who were around at the time. Not historians but people who lived and breathed the experience.”

Best is hoping the DVD explains his side of the story once and for all, but he also wants it to restore his mom’s rightful place in rock history.

That’s because Mona Best jump-started the Beatles’ career – and the British rock scene – by starting the Cavern Club, which gave many bands their big break, including the Fab Four.

As he puts it, “She was very influential and she does have to be portrayed.”

Best admits he hasn’t spoken with John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr since he was dumped but he’s not ruling out a reunion with any of the surviving members.

In his words, “If we’re meant to meet up, that’s karma.”
