She confesses, It was horrible, just horrible, especially because she had done the red carpet broadcasts for the E! Network since 1996.
Rivers jokes that she spent Emmy Day at home with a tiara and microphone waiting for a limo that never showed up but, in reality, she spent the day in the country and didnt watch any of the pre-shows, post-shows or the actual awards.
This year is different. Rivers and her daughter, Melissa, will be back for the Sept. 18 Emmys but, this time, their home is the TV Guide Channel.
Although Rivers practically invented the concept of doing live red carpet interviews, theres a price for success.
She says she gets more offers than she can accept, including the chance to do the red carpet for events like the Ginsburg bar mitzvah or the McGillicuddy wake.
