Courtney Love Can Beat Drugs By Climbing Poles

MALIBU, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Courtney Love danced around a pole as a stripper in The People vs. Larry Flynt, but one psychologist thinks climbing poles might be the key to beating her drug addiction.

Dr. Daniel Gatlin, a licensed clinical psychologist and drug counselor at Renaissance Malibu rehabilitation center, says the center’s pole-climbing Adventure Therapy has helped many strung-out celebrities kick the habit.

Gatlin says, “Climbing up these tall poles in harnesses presents a real challenge. [Celebrities] start to think, ‘How do I deal with this fear and people watching me?’ It’s an experiential and psychotherapeutic approach.”

Whether or not Love decides to participate in pole therapy, Gatlin offers these words of advice for the in-and-out-of-rehab star: “She needs to get clear and honest with herself about the life she wants to have.”

He knows it’s not as easy as it sounds. Gatlin speculates when Love is actually sober, “She probably has a lot of people around her saying, ‘What happened to the crazy, fun, drug addict Courtney?’ They feel almost disappointed.”
