Canadian Loon Spots White Crow

PRINCE ALBERT, Saskatchewan (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A Saskatchewan computer programmer and part-time shaman is asking folks: Don’t shoot my medicine crow.

Doug Pederson says he spotted a white crow back on July 29, and has video footage of the bird, but fears his feathery friend may wind up stuffed on someone’s mantle when it flies south for the winter in a few weeks.

Pederson calls the unusual white bird his “medicine crow” and claims, “Anyone who knows how they fly would say that’s a crow.”

The Saskatchewan shaman figures his powers are getting an extra boost while the bird is in town and he promises to use them for healing purposes.

The 57-year-old says he used to do curses but plans to “stay out of the curses” as he ages.

In the meantime, he says he’ll try to get his mayor, Trevor Thain, to take action to protect the white crow.

Mayor Thain’s office did not return reporters’ calls.
