Crystal Power Helping Glitzed-Out Gals Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’?

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Talented toes and ambition aren’t the only things driving the celebs competing on ABC’s hit reality show Dancing with the Stars.

It may sound New Agey, but Maria McGill, who designs the costumes for Rachel Hunter, Kelly Monaco and the other gals, says the crystals she glues on the glittery costumes have healing powers that can boost the dancers’ moods.

McGill, who’s been a pro ballroom dancer for 30 years, says a silvery black stone called hematite always gets her charged up. In her words, “It’s very slimming and it shines like crazy.”

The Hungary-born designer is also getting a charge from her work on the show. She says her dresses have brought compliments from Hollywood costumers who are comparing her to Bob Mackie.

McGill’s only regret is that she won’t be able to show off some of the glitzy gowns she made for Evander Holyfield’s partner Edyta, since the two were just eliminated from the show.
