The Florida-based pie-maker recently beat out 12 other dough masters from around the world in Dominos Pizzas 19th bi- annual competition.
DeGuia whipped together three large one-topping pizzas in 1 minute, 9 seconds or one pizza every 24 seconds to win the title and $5000.
In preparation for the event, DeGuia made 1,000 pizzas a day, but also partook in his favorite pastime: table tennis.
He says he played a lot in the weeks leading up to the competition to get down his timing, touch and foot speed, which he insists are essential to making a pie in rapid time.
The game also helped DeGuia whos been making pizzas for three decades get into a competitive- mode, though he admits it wasnt hard, because hes pretty competitive at heart.
