Some Parents Don’t Know How To Act At Graduation Ceremonies

NEW HOPE, Pa. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Proud papas and mamas are attending high school and college graduation ceremonies all over the U.S. – but some of them just don’t know how to act.

That’s according to etiquette expert Leah Ingram, who says there are a lot of ceremony attendees who don’t know what good manners are when supporting their graduating loved one.

For instance, many people make etiquette mistakes before the ceremony even starts, such as being a “seat hog” and saving seats at the ceremony venue days prior to the ceremony.

Other ceremony no-nos include standing up for long periods of time to take pictures and blocking the view of everyone behind them; and men who wear wife beaters and flip-flops instead of more appropriate attire.

Finally, she says folks who boo and bring noise-making devices like bull horns or whistles are a real buzz-kill to those around them because as she puts it, “You could make people next to you deaf with those things.”
