Rose McGowan ‘Charmed’ By Elvis

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Rose McGowan plays Ann-Margret in the upcoming CBS biopic about Elvis Presley but playing The King herself might have been a better fit.

The Charmed actress became “very obsessed” with Presley five years ago when she visited Graceland hoping to laugh at the kitschy shag rugs on the ceiling.

However, she was so affected by the visit that she started crying out by his grave and later recorded a version of “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” at Sun Studios.

She is such a big fan that she performs his tunes at karaoke bars and is good at it because, she points out, “I’ve got sort of a deep singing voice.”

Sadly, McGowan wasn’t considered to play Presley but jokes, “I could be Elvis as a lesbian. Wouldn’t that be interesting?”

Elvis debuts on Sunday (May 8) but McGowan will appear in Part 2, which airs May 11.
