Kelly Clarkson: Driven To Get Out On Road

TULSA, Okla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Kelly Clarkson is driven to get out on the road to promote her CD, Breakaway.

Clarkson begins her first headlining tour tonight (Mar. 30) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and admits singing live is the highlight of her life.

She’s especially excited because she feels the songs on Breakaway lend themselves to live performance more than previous hits. As she puts it, “This is really what I sound like. The other recordings were more compressed, more contrived.”

Clarkson is really looking forward to doing her “Influence Medley,” where she will sing tunes by Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge, Annie Lennox and Madonna.

But while Clarkson also plans to sing hits like “Breakaway,” “Since U Been Gone” and “A Moment Like This,” she hints that she might throw some new songs in the mix.

In her words, “I’m always writing songs – it’s like journaling for me – and on my last tour, I wrote a song called ‘Don’t’ at the beginning and was performing it on stage by the end.”
