NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Mystery pianos are popping up all over New York City, and the only thing to do is play on.

Artist Luke Jerram is bringing some fun to the busy streets of the Big Apple with his traveling installation project, Play Me, I’m Yours.

Jerram is placing pianos in different areas of the city and its surrounding burroughs – including at bus stations, skate parks, laundrettes, and police precincts – and encouraging those who come into contact with them to have a go at playing an impromptu tune.

For Jerram, the pianos act as a sculpture or an empty canvas which the general public can then create whatever they want on.

This way, the installation becomes a “collaborative art project” that reflects the identity of the community where it resides.

Jerram asks that those who’ve gotten down on the pianos share what they’ve done by submitting videos or pictures on StreetPianos.com.
