SAN JOSE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Little Elian Gonzalez is all grown up now and could make a real splash as a telenovela actor.

Earlier this week, the Cuban government released new photos of 16-year-old Gonzalez looking rather hunky.

Arguably, he’s now tall, dark, and handsome enough to land a role in a juicy Latin telenovela.

Ben Spade who runs says Elian’s good looks and name recognition alone could be enough for him to find success as a telenovela star.

Spade says the Cuban teen’s life “certainly has aspects of a telenovela” with the twists and tragedies he’s faced since being found floating off the coast of Florida 10 years ago.

As a result of hard living, Spade agrees that Elian may be able to easily tap into his emotions for a powerful performance onscreen.

Meanwhile, Antonis Triantos of says Elian’s tale could be the plot for a classic Latin soap, the only thing missing is steamy romance.

Triantos notes that back in 1999 – before Elian’s immigration ordeal – Mexico’s Televisa ran a soap called El Nino Que Vino Del MarThe Boy Who Came From The Sea – about a 10-year-old boy who travels by boat with his mother until she goes missing.
